The laying of the cornerstone for the first construction phase of the Sangenfeld neighborhood in Weinfelden marked an important milestone. Representatives from the municipality, project partners, and the developer HS Investment AG gathered at the construction site on March 18, 2026, to celebrate the official start of construction together.
The first phase will see the construction of two apartment buildings with a total of 70 condominiums and two studios. The mix of 3.5-, 4.5-, and 5.5-room apartments offers an attractive range of options for different living situations—from couples to families. The project is complemented by an underground parking garage with 107 parking spaces, providing convenient parking for future residents.
The Sangenfeld neighborhood is planned as a comprehensive neighborhood development. On a site spanning approximately 22,000 square meters, a total of nine multi-story buildings with around 300 rental and condominium units will be constructed in several phases. The goal is to create a modern and vibrant residential neighborhood that provides additional living space in Weinfelden while also ensuring a high quality of life within the neighborhood.
Particular emphasis is placed on sustainable development: The site will be developed in accordance with the SNBS Site Standard (Swiss Sustainable Building Standard). This standard takes ecological, economic, and social aspects into account equally and supports long-term sustainable development.
As part of the celebrations, in addition to speeches by those involved in the project, a time capsule was filled and will be symbolically embedded in the building’s foundation. Construction work is currently underway on site. The apartments in the first phase of construction are expected to be ready for occupancy starting in March 2028.
