HRS wins contract for the Viererfeld Elementary School and Sports Facility in Bern

We are delighted to announce that HRS Real Estate AG has been awarded the contract for the new construction of the Viererfeld elementary school and sports facility in the city of Bern following a selective, two-stage design-build competition, effective as of the end of March 2026.

The project team successfully prevailed against a field of ten teams with its “ZUR LINDE” proposal. In addition to the new elementary school, the design includes a sports and cultural hall in the form of a triple gymnasium, a generously proportioned schoolyard, and an artificial turf field complete with locker room facilities.

The elementary school and the sports and cultural hall are connected underground via a shared basement structure, which houses a parking garage with approximately 155 parking spaces. This facility also serves as a public shelter with a capacity of approximately 2,800 people.
