The Tilia Tower is taking shape

On 17 July 2025, the ground-breaking ceremony for the Tilia Tower in Prilly marked a symbolic milestone in the realisation of this high-rise project in the heart of western Lausanne.

Managed by HRS Real Estate AG as a total contractor, this ambitious project, developed for Insula SA, stands 85 metres high and will eventually house more than 380 residential units, divided between rental flats and co-living units. At the foot of the tower, shops and business premises will complete this new piece of the city. The project combines new construction and renovation, with the complete upgrading of the existing ‘Badminton’ building, while ensuring the continuity of activities on the site.

Combining innovative architecture and modular construction, the Tilia Tower embodies a new generation of buildings, designed to meet the current challenges of urban densification, energy performance and sustainability. Awarded the Minergie-P-ECO label and integrated into an SNBS-labelled neighbourhood, the project relies on responsible construction choices: parametric façade, timber frame, timber structure and prefabricated construction modules, and supply logistics designed for a complex and constrained site.

Executed by Fehlmann Architectes SA and designed by 3XN and IttenBrechbühl SA, this project embodies the desire to offer a bold architectural and constructive response to the challenges of tomorrow's city.
