BusinessCenter Polyfeld - Stage 1

The new BusinessCity is taking shape on the Polyfeld site in Muttenz—a future-oriented location for local, national, and international companies. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Rennbahnklinik, renowned far beyond Switzerland’s borders; the new University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW); and the SEK II cantonal school campus—together, they create an atmosphere of learning, work, culture, leisure, and living in Polyfeld.

BusinessCity consists of three building complexes, which will be constructed in phases and reflect the spatial, checkerboard-like layout of the Polyfeld site. At its heart lies the 1,277 m² central plaza, adorned with green spaces and a water feature as a gathering place; arcades leading to the boulevard invite visitors to stroll and linger. The first phase focuses on the six-story main building B1, constructed to the «shell-plus» standard, which allows new tenants to freely design their interior layouts; the ground floor and first floor, with a ceiling height of four meters, are ideally suited for special uses.

HRS Investment AG, based in Frauenfeld, carried out the project as the investor and general contractor with full cost, quality, and schedule guarantees. A consortium comprising Bühler & Partner AG, Zumthor Architekten, and Jeker Architekten SIA—all based in Bottmingen—was responsible for the architecture.

With a construction volume of 54,550 m³, a lot area of 9,650 m², and a floor area of 14,800 m², the total cost amounted to approximately CHF 35 million. The construction period ran from September 2020 to October 2022.
