The renovation of the Geiselweid indoor swimming pool in Winterthur has comprehensively modernized a major sports and recreational facility and adapted it to meet the future needs of the public, clubs, and schools. The project brings together swimming, wellness, dining, and recreation under one roof, creating an attractive offering for a variety of user groups. The goal of the renovation was to optimize the facility in terms of functionality, cost-effectiveness, and energy sustainability while simultaneously enhancing the visitor experience.

The modernized facility includes an indoor pool with state-of-the-art infrastructure, a sauna, a restaurant, and spacious terrace areas. Through the targeted renovation of key building sections and technical systems, guest comfort was significantly enhanced. At the same time, operational processes were optimized and the conditions for long-term economic operation were established.

A particular focus was placed on improving energy efficiency. Comprehensive economic feasibility studies were conducted as early as the project development phase to identify and implement all technically and economically viable energy-saving measures. This made it possible to sustainably reduce energy consumption and optimize operating costs in the long term. The guaranteed consumption figures underscore the high standards of sustainability and operational reliability.

HRS Real Estate AG executed the project as the general contractor and assumed overall responsibility for its successful implementation. In addition to adhering to cost, quality, and schedule targets, a ten-year operating cost guarantee was provided. Thanks to careful planning and efficient coordination among all project participants, the Geiselweid Indoor Swimming Pool has emerged as a modern sports and leisure facility that makes a significant contribution to the quality of life and recreational opportunities in Winterthur.
