Zurich
The complete renovation of the Hotel Marktgasse 17 in Zurich has transformed a historic building into a modern, high-end hotel with contemporary dining options. The project combines a careful approach to preserving the existing structure with the demands of comfort, functionality, and hospitality in the heart of Zurich’s Old Town.
As part of the comprehensive renovation, the hotel rooms, dining areas, and public spaces were modernized and redesigned. In addition to the 39-room hotel, attractive restaurant spaces and a take-away option were created on the ground floor, which help revitalize the location and are open to guests and passersby alike.
Particular attention was paid to combining historical character with contemporary use. The high-quality architectural execution created an authentic yet modern ambiance that preserves the building’s special charm while meeting today’s requirements for an urban hotel operation.
HRS took on construction and overall management, ensuring the project’s successful completion in terms of quality, costs, and deadlines. With the renovation of Marktgasse 17, a significant location in Zurich’s Old Town has been sustainably revitalized and positioned for the future.
