Saurer WerkZwei, construction site C - Casa Giesserei

On Construction Site C of the Saurer WerkZwei complex in Arbon, the Casa Giesserei has been developed as a residential community that combines hotel-style comfort with assisted living and nursing care: «A hotel with apartments and a nursing home» as the operator itself describes it. The new building comprises 59 senior apartments—57 small apartments, two larger penthouse apartments, and nine studios—as well as an integrated nursing unit with 24 nursing rooms and 6 transitional care/guest rooms. Residents have access to a variety of services as well as an on-site restaurant.

The development site was developed by the owner and general contractor HRS Real Estate AG; the Genossenschaft der Baufreunde, Zurich, acquired the property and invested approximately CHF 112 million, while Sensato AG was selected as the operator. Casa Giesserei thus forms a central component of Arbon’s new city center and complements the diverse mix of uses at the Saurer WerkZwei site with a contemporary offering for seniors.
