Sihlstrasse 34

With the renovation of the property at Sihlstrasse 34 in Zurich, HRS carried out a comprehensive modernization of a centrally located commercial building, ensuring its long-term usability and technical sustainability. The project combined challenging renovation work with the preservation of valuable structural elements and was implemented while the building remained in operation.

The focus was on the complete renewal of the building services systems and the renovation of the flat roofs. At the same time, the historically protected facade was carefully restored and adapted to today’s requirements without compromising its architectural character or urban significance. The work required a high degree of planning, coordination, and precision craftsmanship.

The implementation posed special challenges for all project participants, as the building had to remain in use throughout the construction period. Through careful phasing and efficient construction processes, disruptions to users were minimized while ensuring the highest quality standards.

HRS executed the project as a general contractor with full cost, quality, and schedule guarantees. The result is a property that has been modernized in terms of technology and energy efficiency, meeting the requirements of contemporary building operations while sustainably preserving the building’s historical character.
