The comprehensive renovation of the Volkiland shopping center in Volketswil has sustainably enhanced this important retail and community hub for the region. The historic shopping center has been given a contemporary makeover that meets the growing demands of modern shopping environments while simultaneously strengthening the location’s long-term appeal.

As part of the modernization, the retail spaces were expanded and reorganized. At the heart of the project is the spacious Coop Megastore, complemented by open, bright communal areas and modern customer flow. The redesigned interiors create a welcoming atmosphere with a high quality of stay and offer visitors a contemporary shopping experience.

In addition to the comprehensive renovation of the retail and communal spaces, the building envelope was also modernized. The new façade design gives the shopping center a fresh look and reinforces its identity as a regional shopping and service hub. The entire project was carried out in several construction phases while the center remained open for business a challenging task that required precise planning and coordinated execution.

As the general contractor, HRS assumed overall responsibility for the project and ensured its successful completion in terms of cost, quality, and schedule. The modernized Volkiland has become a forward-looking shopping center that equally meets the needs of customers and tenants and sustainably solidifies its role as an important gathering place in the region.
