Berne
With the Mittelstrasse 43 project in Bern, a listed administrative building has undergone a comprehensive conversion and refurbishment, adapting it to contemporary requirements. The focus was on carefully combining the historic fabric with modern standards of functionality and comfort.
As part of the project, a new library was created, enhancing the site and providing an attractive space for users. The development is complemented by the construction of a new building within the inner courtyard, adding additional space and integrating seamlessly into the existing ensemble.
The implementation required a highly sensitive approach to the existing structure, as well as precise planning and execution. Particular emphasis was also placed on sustainability and energy efficiency.
The Mittelstrasse 43 project represents the successful preservation of historic heritage combined with modern architecture and forward-looking use – delivered by HRS as general contractor with the highest standards of quality and execution.
